The first sight greeting anyone entering Dean Foods (formerly SuperValu Dairy Plant) is Supervisor / Sergeant Irene Smith. Sgt. Smith is ASG’s Supervisor of the Dean Foods contract site. She is the first and last person one sees upon entering and leaving the plant.

Sgt. Smith, who has been with ASG for more than 11 years, is a valued member of the Dean Foods operation. Her primary post is the guard station through which all persons must enter and exit the plant. In addition to the guard station Sgt. Smith, also, must monitor another unmanned entrance/exit to the property.

Sgt. Smith is a Richmond native who worked for Burns Security before ASG snagged her. She has four brothers and one sister and lives down the street from her mother. Sgt. Smith’s favorite food is pizza. Her favorite activities are going out and the movies.

While Sgt. Smith is modest when it comes to talking about herself, her supervisor, David Lockhart has plenty to say: she takes care of business, her site and her staff; she’s fair to her staff; the client, Dean Foods, loves her; she can often be found evenings and weekends checking on her operation; and she “owns” her site.

What does she say about ASG? “It’s a good company to work for.” What does ASG have to say about Ms. Smith? She sets the standard for loyalty, performance and client and staff satisfaction. ASG is proud to have Ms. Smith as one of its ambassadors for and guardians of its clients.
